- 6 potatoes
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- ½ cup milk
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 pinch nutmeg
Peel your potatoes and cut them into even squares (this helps them cook evenly).
Add them to a large pot and cover with cold water starting with cold water helps the potatoes cook more evenly.
Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15–20 minutes.
Whip the cottage cheese in a blender or food processor until smooth.
Drain the potatoes well and return them to the pot.
Add cottage cheese, milk of choice, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
Mash everything together until you reach your desired consistency. You can leave it a bit chunky or go smooth and creamy.
- Use warmed milk for a fluffy mash.
- You can use an electric whisk to mash your potatoes if you don't have a potato masher and for a quick and smooth mash.
